Ardhachandra Hasta : This hasta is formed by joining all the fingers and keeping the thumb separate and straight in a way to create a gap between the thumb and the palm of the hand.

Chandra krishnashtamibhaji Gala hastarthakepi cha  |    Bhala yudha devathanam abhishechana karmani  Bhukapatraech udhbavae ||
Katiyam chinthayam Athma vachakae Dhyanae cha   | Prarthanae chapae AnganaamSparshanae thatha Prakurthanam Namaskarae ||

Meaning of Sloka
  1. Chandra krishnashtamibhaji – 8 phases of the moon over a fortnight
  2. Gala hastarthakepi – A hand stopping the throat
  3. Bhala yudha – A spear / stab / pierce
  4. Devathanam abhishechana karmani – doing an offering to the Gods
  5. Bhukapatraech – Plate
  6. Udhbavae – Origin or birth
  7. Katiyam – waist
  8. Chinthayam – Thinking
  9. Athma vachakae – Consider / think/study
  10. Dhyanae – Meditation
  11. Prarthanae – Prayers
  12. Anganaam  Sparshanae – Touching the limbs
  13. Prakurthanam Namaskarae – Greeting ordinary people
