Meaning: There are 7 Oceans and the hastas will be discussed now.
The Pataka hand should be done and the movement should be up and down. For other rivers (which are not mentioned in the list given below) only this movement can be used for showing the river. While hold the following mudra for the respective rivers along with Pataka will ensure understanding of these movements among Rasikas.

Meaning : Pataka Hasta performing Vyavrtta and apavestitahastapranas denotes all the rivers like Ganga. However, keeping in view the special virtues of rivers like Ganga, Brhasspati had expounded different hastas for them.
